Description
What is a share register and share certificates?
A share certificate is legal proof of ownership of the company and displays the percentage of shareholding of which that person or entity holds. A share register is a register of all the issued shares and share certificates of the company which allows the owners to exactly keep track of the ownership of the company.
Why purchase a share register and share certificates.
Without having the share certificates signed and captured in a share register, no shares have technically been awarded to the shareholders of the company (Section 24 to 26 of the Companies Act). Without having a share register and share certificates there is no physical proof of who actually owns the company and the shares thereof.
Who needs this?
Every business, whether a start-up or a large company.
